Every day, we hear customers in-store laugh about how they “hate” visiting us, because they always walk out with something awesome they never planned on buying.
And trust us, we have even more goodies hiding on the shelves that you might not have spotted yet. We are steadily expanding our online product showcase so you can browse ahead of time and be fully prepared (or at least think you are!) for your next visit.
For now, this serves as a catalogue of what we have in stock, but watch this space, an integrated online shopping portal is coming sooner than you think.
A Bit of MBM History
Mannie started operating as MBM while still actively competing as a professional cyclist in Europe in 2010. He opened his very first “shop” out of the garage of his parents’ house in Pioneerspark. By 2011, the entertainment and braai area had become the showroom, another room became his office, and his sister’s bedroom was converted into a storeroom!
Sales quickly went through the roof, and with our core motto of “Impossible is Nothing,” expansion was inevitable.
The search for the new MECCA of cycling began. During a training ride one day, Mannie spotted a house for sale on Acacia Street in Suiderhof. After some daydreaming and a quick offer, the property was secured in no time.
Then the real work began: transforming a family home into a dedicated bike shop, built from the ground up to be a true destination for the Namibian cycling community.
The purchase contract was signed in June 2012, followed by transfer, loan approval, and rezoning later that year. Construction kicked off in January 2013, and to coincide with Mannie’s birthday, the shop officially opened with a bang on 12 July 2013.
By November 2016, MBM took its next big step by expanding to the coast. The Swakopmund store opened its doors soft-launching late that year, followed by an official Grand Opening celebration over Easter weekend in April 2017, marking not just a new location, but the continued growth and shared passion of the MBM community.
