Dear Namibian Sportspeople
Due to new covid regulations limiting mass gatherings to only 100 people, and the extended lockdown of Swakopmund/Walvisbay we have decided it best to postpone the TINMAN to now the weekend of 30-31 October 2020.
Again,it is with great pleasure that LEMA events announces the birth of a new event – the TINMAN ! a weekend of riding,running and swimming in Uis – Home of the Brandberg.
Due to covid-19 restrictions we have to limit the number of athletes to 200.
This event it sponsored by AfriTin Mining, the proud owners of the Uis Tin Mine.’
You can run or ride or swim or you can enter the TINMAN and do all 3 events .
In order to qualify for the title of TINMAN you need to all three disciplines (Longest Distances). It is however not a traditional triathlon with first the swim, then ride, then run. You can do the ride, then take a break, then do the run, take a break and then do the swim.

TINMAN
Friday 31 October– registration @ Uis Restcamp from 18h00 onwards.
Saturday 1st November
07h00 – Mountain bike ride 60km
08h00 – Run 10 km
NB – you have to start with your second activity by 11h00 latest.
Cutoff is 14h00.
15h00 – swim 1,2 km
19h00 – dinner, entertainment, prize giving at Uis Restcamp.
For those just wanting to swim/ride/run you can choose:
60km TINbike (07h00 start)
30km TINbike (07h30 start)
10km TINrun (08h00 start)
5km TINrun/walk (08h30 start)
400/800/1200 metre TINswim (15h00 start)
Costs : N$ 500 per person for the TINMAN (includes dinner on Saturday evening, Special TINMAN shirt)
N$ 350 per person for run or ride or swim or any two of them. (Includes dinner on Saturday evening)
Please note that accommodation is separate and for own account. We have arranged for discounted rates at the various establishments. you need to book your accommodation direct please.
